South African Crypto University Enrolls 50,000 Students in 3 Days

As reported in an article on Face 2 Face Africa, South Africa’s Crypto U has enrolled 50,000 students from around the world in just three days. This is an online university that provides lessons on trading, investment, Bitcoin basics, and smart contract deployment on Ethereum. While some of its courses are paid for, others are free.

Grey Jabesi, owner of South Africa’s Crypto U said, “We believe in financial freedom, especially through cryptocurrency, because it does not discriminate. The 21st-century is the knowledge economy and to succeed in such an environment, one needs to constantly up-skill oneself with relevant education and that is what we are here for.”

One might be interested to know more about Grey Jabesi. Records hold that Grey Jabesi comes from a poor family in Malawi. Taking the path of formal education was not part of his priorities as he was only interested in games and computers although his parents could not afford them. According to the young entrepreneur, he attended school for the sake of his parents and not necessarily because he thought it could be of benefit to him in times to come.

As time went by, he migrated to South Africa to further his education in one of South Africa’s Universities. However, upon arrival he changed his mind and instead picked up a job at a laundromat, saved up his money, and purchased his very first computer. He then learned everything there is to know about computers, including coding all by himself. Luckily enough, his talent was soon noticed after he was hired as a graphic designer and later proceeded to work in the film industry as an editor, animator, and colorist.

Having gained enough experience, Jabesi decided to quit working for others and established his company called Shockwaves FX, which was into providing postproduction services for online and local clients.

Upon realizing the possibility of growing wealth with Bitcoins, Jabesi sold his valuables and invested the money into buying more Bitcoins. Today, Jabesi owns a cryptocurrency university known as Crypto U. It is an online university that he launched in 2018. He runs this university from his offices in Johannesburg and Cape Town. He describes this university as the Harvard of Cryptocurrency, where well-known cryptocurrency experts offer various courses on Cryptocurrency and Blockchain. It is really fascinating to learn that in just three days, he enrolled over 50,000 students from around the world.
